Commissions

Commissions

For the piece that doesn't exist yet.

I take a small number of commissions each year. Figurative work, neuroanatomical series, and portraits that explore the body as a site of memory and meaning.

Currently booking for late 2026.

The Process

How a commission begins.

i

Conversation

A 30-minute call to talk about who or what the piece is for. No commitment.

ii

Concept

I sketch a direction, propose size and medium, and quote investment.

iii

Deposit

50% to begin. The remaining 50% on delivery.

iv

Studio time

I work in oil and mixed media. Most commissions take 8–16 weeks.

v

Delivery

The finished work, signed and ready to live with you.

Scope

What I take on.

I take a small number of commissions each year because the work demands time and presence. Most commissions begin with someone who has lived with my paintings already, or who has been in a workshop, or who finds the visual language at the intersection of body, memory, and neuroscience resonant.

The commissioned piece is yours — a one-of-one painting that lives in your home, your clinic, your studio, your space. I retain image rights for portfolio use; you retain everything else.

Begin

Inquire about a commission.

Email me directly. I read every message myself, usually reply within a few days, and from there we set up a call.

What helps me respond well

  1. Who or what the piece is for (yourself, a loved one, a space)
  2. Any subject, mood, or reference that's calling you
  3. A rough size or wall in mind (it's fine if you don't know yet)
  4. Your timeline — is this for a specific date, or open?
  5. Any of my existing work that resonates
